Brian Dolan has had a strong interest in people all his life. His Military and Technical training with the Irish Defence forces allowed him to experience first hand the discipline and attitudes that make the difference between average and excellent.
On overseas duty with the United Nations, Brian discovered that excellence at what you do may not be enough to keep you alive; you also need to be excellent at observing and understanding other people, as their attitudes and response to threat can adversely impact your life experience.
Brian transferred to Civilian status in 1988, and moved rapidly to a management position in one of the largest engine replacement centres in Europe.
Experience in fleet management and maintenance in Canada translated into staff training and fleet management consulting in Ireland.
Brian now owns Progressive Business Development; a training company based in Co. Leitrim, and has personally worked as a Business Mentor with over three hundred business start ups in recent years. A strong background and qualification in Business Training and course development are matched with a diploma in Executive Business Coaching.
His new seminar ‘Headspace & Strategy’ embodies the principles that Brian has used in pursuit of personal and Business excellence.
Brian has worked with individuals and organisations, creating Business Plans to develop clarity of purpose, plan Cashflow needs for the coming year, and with individual projects varying from single person startups, to projects requiring funding of over one million euros.
Brian Dolan also delivers highly entertaining and motivational speeches. His perceptive insights and wry humour are backed with positive practical tools, developed while returning to the workforce from years of debilitating illness.

He has also been a contract trainer and presenter in many leading Irish academic institutions including University College Dublin, Trinity College Dublin, National University of Ireland in Galway, Tallaght IT and Dorset College. In the last two years, James has led teams and coached individuals across four different continents, including countries as diverse as USA (California & Arizona), Australia (Gold Coast), UK (London & Birmingham), Belarus, Georgia, and Uganda (three independent projects).
In 2003 James founded Powerteam Ireland – a thriving inspirational and motivational seminar series committed to the personal empowerment, growth and development of its huge membership. James is also a graduate of the Anthony Robbins Mastery University and Leadership Academy – a world-renowned authority on Personal and Professional Development, Life & Business Mastery and Servant Leadership. In April 2007 James was invited to be a ‘Member of the Anthony Robbins Trainer Team: facilitating change with small groups of people using Anthony Robbins human development psychology’. He is the first and only person to hold this exceptional honor in the Republic of Ireland. In 2008 James has facilitated the hugely popular ECSL Diploma in Personal & Executive Coaching across eight different locations in Ireland.
James is a native of Roscommon and now based in Carrick-on-Shannon, Co.Leitrim.
